Then another one next day:
Your Rav4 Hybrid GIB018 is now booked in on xx/xx/2026 at xx:xx with Downtown Toyota 753 Wynnam Road, Morningside

Scary thing is we did book something with Thrifty on the same day.

Obviously it's a scam why can't we report this number and it gets them disconnected
. That's not even right.. the phone number must belong to a company whose responsible then.

Caller: Taylor Automotive

Received text message saying ‘Taylor Automotive’ had completed my car service and vehicle was ready for pick up.
Have never heard of them and do not have a vehicle being serviced. Deleted message.

Similar messages of servicing a car. Ignored SMS.

I received the sms with the following message

I don’t recognise the plate nor the dealer.

Caller: Toyota castle hill

SMS received confirming booking car service from Castle Hill Toyota.

I received a text message from this number telling me that I could book an essential service then get a free wheel alignment, the offer ending on November 30. There was no identification of who the sender was or where they were (or any sort of dealership etc). They provided what looked like some sort of web address, but of course I didn't attempt to use it.I very strongly suspect that this is a scam attempt, albeit a rather unusual one.

I received a service reminder via SMS from this number. A month ago I received a message from a motorcycle dealer using the same number.
Both were valid so I suspect this number is used by a messaging service utilised by vehicle dealers / mechanics.

Caller: Melville Toyota (WA)

SMS received at 3.05pm on 13/07/23 advising "Your vehicle [licence plate number provided] is booked with Melville Toyota Service Centre (53 McCoy St, Myaree), on 13/07/2023 @ 07:30, ready for collection @17.30. Thank you." Not even sure what this scammer has to gain.

2 issues with this:
1.Checked the license plate they provided and doesn't exist.
2.Since when do dealerships give you an option to opt out of a reminder message for a service.
