Scam. Number doesn't match previous legit texts from Telstra and bill amount quoted in the text was wrong. Jumped online and checked that I'm all paid-up to finally settle the issue. Definitely don't click on the link.

I get messages from this number but also from a number that reads "Telstra" and is impossible to reply to, where as the number above is able to receive return messages. They both use the same (wrong) name and were received on the same day. I no longer have an account with Telstra and am inclined to think that its Telstra being Telstra (crap).

I replied to one of these messages that had my name correct and received a confirmation from a different number that I have received genuine Telstra messages from - I don't think it is a scam. I also know of others that have received them with incorrect names and they don't have a Telstra account - I think it is just sloppy work from Telstra.

I have spent an hour on Telstra 24/7 chat trying to work this out, then got the bright idea, check here and there it is a SCAM, good people for reporting it.

Received 1 txt msg from this number.
"Hi #####, just a quick message to say thanks for continuing to choose Telstra for your service. Do you know that your most recent bill for $68.77 was due in the last few days? Simply visit (hyperlink) to pay now or Reply "1" if you need 6 days to pay"
Knew my name and mobile number but not uncommon as multiple companies sell client contact lists. Annoying but happens. Reported to Telstra for followup as well. Not following that link because dont trust it but it was recorded as being Telstra.com/paybill. Could be hidden hyperlink underneath so playing it cautious.
