Looks like they have switched it up as I have just received one claiming to be from NAB, given I don't bank with NAB is an out and out scam

The text message says it's from westpac suspending your account until you update your details via a link. If you get one of these, never follow links from messages or emails. If you have an account with them, log in through your usual method and check that way if you are concerned. As I don't have an account, it can only be a scam.

Ditto. Just got message from Westpac re my on line banking (which I don’t have), requesting I follow a link or I would not be able to use services. All I say is KARMA.

This is weird! I got one of these. Did not follow the link, but it also gave a number to call (132 032) which was not a link. I decided not to follow it, but to log into my account. It wouldn't let me! There was a phone number to call for help, which was a different, 1300 number. The guy on the other end was as perplexed as I am. Turns out that the number given in the text is also a Westpack number, so had i phoned it, I would have gotten Westpac, not the scammer.
Anyway, had to reset my password to be able to get into my account.

I just got this same message from 0480 268 402 which is a mobile number in Australia from someone pretending to be Westpac and saying my account needs to be updated. It's suss from the start because in 35 years I've banked with Westpac they never ever sent me an SMS. Since I bank with Westpac I was curious to see if my account was suspected until I update details. So I logged into my (real) Westpac account and there is no such limit or restriction. This is a 100% pure scam!!

In behalf of Westpac, haven't had acct. With them in many years. Nice of them to keep me posted. Anyway. I was scammed a few months ago. So I am trying to keep my losses to a minimum.

This is absolutely Scam!!! I have given my all detail and my money all has gone. It's terrible!!!

Extortionists, they try to make you go to the link. https://bankingwestpac.com.au on your phone - it looks legitimate but it is the deceptive website when you type in on chrome so BECAREFULL !!!!!!!!!
