Detector Inspector are a cartel who absorb all the work usually taken by small contract tradespeople and are used by lazy real estate agencies to deal with issues in all the rental properties they couldn't care less about. They email, they call, they invent issues that they then have to return to repair. Persistent and annoying.

The owner of the rental can change smoke alarm batteries, saving themselves $100 after all the owner is the rental service provider. Read and understand the legislation, it’s only a short paragraph. Nobody needs to be qualified or a certificate provided. Read and understand the legislation.

I missed this call and they left a message, and they are calling on behalf of my real estate agent to try to schedule a time where they can come and install/change smoke detectors in my rental. They gave me a landline return phone number. Don’t think it’s dodgy per se, although my agent seems to preference annoying processes (maintenance requests is another, via a dysfunctional app that takes ages to complete!!) although they do sound very clinical (robot like) in their approach. Australian accented man who left the message.

Absolute joke of a company. Relentlessly trying to contact me via emails, calls from various numbers, texts etc etc going on for weeks. I believe Jellis Craig use them for checking your smoke alarms are in order / swapping the battery (as if we can't do this ourselves).

Call centre seems to be in India. Torturous aggressive communication style.

Last time they attended my rental, the guy went up into the roof space to check the ducted heating unit for gas safety and managed to tear off the foil piping that feeds all my rooms. We only noticed after a week after we found the heating to take hours to warm the house - we were paying to heat the f*cking tin roof because of this numpty. I went into the roof space and had to repair and tape the foil ducts back together. Useless.

Couldn't understand a word of what she said she could hardly speak English what a sevice

Detector Inspector, calling to ask me when its convenient for them to change a battery. This is the 8th time they have called since November, even tho I have confirmed the date multiple times.

They didn’t say a word when I said hello…so I hung up after 10 seconds…they cancelled a booked appointment via text message INSIDE the booking window due to an ‘unforeseen issue’

Would of been nice if they left a text message! like who you are & what you want? you know basic stuff!

dont know but looking at the other comment it's likely the smoke dectector people from my old place, they always called a lot around this time of year.
