Caller: 'telstra'

This was from someone at 'Telstra' who said they could give me a 40% discount on my bill. I don't have a Telstra account but asked them how I could get the discount. They send they would send me a link in an email. He read out 2 of my email addresses to ask which one to send it to.
He then sent me a link to my phone to reset my password. I have had a previous sms from this number a year ago about Telstra 2 step verification. I did have a Telstra account back then so maybe that's how they have my details but I hung up anyway.
Was trying to determine if he was a scammer or just a telemarketer because scammers are the scum of the earth and I was ready to tell him so!

Caller: Don't know definitely Asian but not Indian.

Called by 0480 075 567 at 1:21pm Qld time. Said they were from Telstra and offered me a 40% discount. I actually work for Telstra and smelt a rat. When I asked for his name and other details he hung up. I have tried to call them back on my silent number and I get an engaged signal.

This no. 0480 075 567 called me. I remained silent, they called me by name. Apparently a ‘Telstra’ telemarketer, but more likely scammer. Beware/

Claimed to be from Telstra, offering a 40% reduction on phone bill (seemed to know that I was a Telstra customer). I had to activate the offer on my phone. I terminated the call. Doesn't sound like something Telstra would do.
