Caller: “Telstra”

Claimed they were from Telstra and wanted to give me a discount. Hung up when I told them I wasn’t even with Telstra.

Rang me 4 times in 1 hour today. Scam call. Don’t answer.

Caller: Telstra Scammers

This number called me two times yesterday (I didn’t answer). Called me again today and I answered. Said she was from Telstra (who I am not with) and you could hear all the other scam calls being made in the background. I told them I wasn’t with Telstra and I had no idea why they are calling me. I asked them to explain themselves and they hung up. Please be careful.

Claimed to be from "Optus Billing Sport" and were calling to give me a 20% discount. When I asked if this was the same company as Optus she claimed that they were but when pressed became very evasive and pretended to not understand English. In there database they had my address details from 15 years ago.

Caller: Woman said she was from Optus

Said she was from Optus offering 20% off bill. Asked me to confirm my first name and date of birth. Has got more clever since her previous attempts as listed by others on this site because she had at least looked up my number on this site and knew my postcode and last name and that I am with Optus. Was persistent and called me back insisting she was genuine even when I told her I knew she was a scammer and I had checked with Optus.

Caller: Person claiming to be from Optus

Just had a call from a mobile number 0480 035 828, stating that they were from Optus and asked if I had any issues with my service dropping out etc.
Then they said that they had an offer for me for 20% off for 6 months, but I had to give them my details.

I questioned why they were calling from a mobile number and they said that it was cheaper that way to call people. (first red flag)...

It took me ages to understand her as her accent and english was very bad... but I said that I thought this whole thing was a scam, and she said that she could send me a code to prove she was from optus on my mobile...

So I received a text saying "xxxxxxx is your code for Optus" (I won't put the code number there just in case), but it was just an ordinary text where the name "Optus MSG" came up at the top of the text.

I hung up on her and she tried to ring back 3 times, but I just kept hanging up on her... then I tried to call the number back and it said that it couldn't connect the call...due to service difficulties...

I have also googled the number and seen that others have had the same issue here...

Just wanted to warn people as these scammers seem to be getting more clever by stating they will send a code to fool people...

Don't be fooled...

Caller: Scammer

Called claiming to be Optus. Could hardly put a sentence together . Obvious scam call. Blocked after answering .

Rang and said they were with Telstra (am not with Telstra), so I hung up and they kept ringing till I blocked.

Caller: “Vodafone”

Rang me 6 times claiming to wanting to give me a Christmas promotional offer of 25% off my mobile carrier. I asked what mobile carrier and they said Vodafone. I’m not with Vodafone but played along. She then wanted my name and date of birth in order to confirm I was the account holder. When I said I wasn’t with Vodafone she got angry and hung up

Caller: Accent was too thick to understand anything

Scammers, tried to get me to confirm some of my details. The woman who called couldn't explain why she is calling, where from, kept asking if I can hear her. I hung up and blocked
