Caller: NBN call

I got this recently as well. They wanted to verify payment details. I hung up on them. NBN do not sell their services direct to the public! You have to go through an internet provider who provides the internet service to you. Definate SCAM if they say they claim they are from the NBN and ring you for your payment details. Hang up if you are not sure and phone your internet provider direct and check with them.

NIB Health Insurance called - I transferred to another PHI, so they decided to beguile me back.

Said they were from NIB to confirm my payment amount and see if I had any questions. Questioned why it came from a mobile number and she said standard practice as they work from home. Seemed legitimate but I didn't want to give any details over the phone, as they provide all the information by email already anyway. She understood. Agree with above commenter that this is very poor practice teaching by NIB their customers to trust dodgy looking inbound calls.

On answering total silence. I have blocked the number now

It’s NIB. Calling to update my payments. I have actually missed a payment but there have been a lot scam reports about this number and has previously been reported as a spoofed number.
I do not trust this, it’s very suspicious and they call 2-3 times a day. This is a SCAM, if you’re unsure contact NIB or whomever they claim to be (from their direct website number) and confirm with them.

I changed health funds recently and now I keep getting three to four calls a day from this number. I eventually had to block it.....buzz off, I switched funds for a reason!

Wish some people would get a life and stop annoying people.

Called the number back after missing the call. Was basically just to ask if I had any questions and elaborating on my premiums. No questions about banking or anything.

It was about my annual payment . On answering it was silent for quite a while . I didn’t give any details . Could be hackers also wanting to scam . Who knows !

long silence after answering call, then the caller advised they were from nib to confirm my annual payment details. call did not seem legitimate so ended the call promptly.

They rang twice but no one was talking so I hung up. I have also recently changed from in NIB, seems strange that they are calling everyone who was left them, but then not saying anything when you answer the phone is just weird!

Recently switched insurance and was a courtesy call - line was silent when I picked up for 10 seconds (assumed it was a robocall scam to get my name).

I too have changed health funds away from NIB.
When I answered this call it automatically hung up, like it was a robocall from NIB to confirm the number is attended or something.
I've called back the number and its put me through to NIB(?) that did claim they are legitimate but I didn't want to push my luck with giving my details.

I suspect the number is legitimately NIB.

Had some missed calls on my mobile & blocked it thanks to advice here. But this is new - the same number just called my landline, too & didn’t leave a message. Called back to double check & yes, NIB recorded message about premiums.

I used to get plenty of scam calls from this number, never any voicemails. But once blocked my phone keeps around 10 calls a fortnight/week away from me. Definitely scam artists.

Called at 7pm then sent a literal audio message at 10pm with a text which read “0480 025 320 left you a message. Click/tap to hear your message. Missed Call Service is at no cost in Australia, but international roaming charges apply if you’re overseas. Call159 to opt out”.

tf??? Seems suspicious….blocked.

This claims to be NIB when I call back, but it seems like a mobile number, they didn't leave a message and my phone ID doesn't list NIB, just the number. Told them I'd call back on NIBs listed number.

If this is actually NIB it's very poor practice teaching their customers to trust dodgy looking inbound calls.

My phone's smart ID comes up as NIB Health Funds. I recently changed health funds and seems legitimate...but it is odd being a mobile number. The first time they called I didn't answer then the second time I they called I answered and they hung up. When I called back it says NIB.
