This is a marketing number used by Energy Australia to contact customers who are moving to another provider.

Said it was from Energy Australia about a transfer request to a different service provider. Asked for my date of birth to start with. I had never made such a request. Couldn’t tell me which service provider it was to be transferred to. I ended the call and called Energy Australia’s contact number. Nothing on their record about any transfer request. Be cautious!

I just changed from Energy Australia so I'm guessing this is them.

I answered but they didn't say anything so I looked up the number and here we are!

A lady called with this mobile phone number claiming she's from Energy Australia (business should normally use call center number or landline)

Called my name correct, asking if I recently moved away from Energy Australia (haven't been with them for at least 2 years) and want me to confirm my identity with date of birth etc. I told her no unless you tell me the street number of the property I had service with them and refused to provide any info.

I'd call this as scam.

I missed the call, voice message was left, but nothing left in my voice mail. I called back, automatically disconnected.

I figured it was a scam but had to check as EA had screwed up before on a fraud transfer. Told me the same thing, they only use their 6 digit number to contact or email. Nothing in the system about me transferring. So many scam calls it’s ridiculous

SCAM! Claimed to be from Energy Australia. Claimed I had transferred my service (I have not). A text message that looked genuine came a couple of hours prior. Positively do not answer or engage. Linked to fake number 1800 184 029. Energy Australia has confirmed that those 2 numbers aren't theirs and that they'll never call you with a mobile number and that's a red flag. Call Energy Australia directly on their only and official hotline on 133466 if you want to speak to them. The real Energy Australia confirmed that I've not made a transfer request and that they've not made any calls to me recently

EA sent letter saying that the current plan was expiring so discounts were ending. I then found a much cheaper energy providers on a compare energy plan website, and following transfer I was then contacted by EA's retention team who complained that I did not read the footer of the termination letter where they had invited me to contact them regarding new plans! When I suggested that I was not obliged to contact them to discuss staying with them, they replied that it was not normal for energy providers to contact their customers at the end of the plan to offer incentives to stay with them. They are very out of touch with reality and do not deserve our business.....

ENERGY AUSTRALIA TRYING TO CALL ME ABOUT MY "REQUEST TO MOVE TO ANOTHER RETAILER" - SEVERAL TIMES. TOO LATE. TRANSFER COMPLETED. REASON: SIGNED UP FOR 'GREEN ENERGY' BUT NOTICED THAT THE FINE PRINT ON THE BILL SAID THAT THIS CAN TAKE UP TO SIX MONTHS. I SIGNED UP FOR GREEN ENERGY MUCH LONGER AGO THAN SIX MONTHS - IT'S A CON. MOVED TO REAL GREEN ENERGY PROVIDER. BYE!

Called twice yesterday and missed me, then again today. So I figured not a dialing robot. As others have written this is an Energy Australia marketeer trying to convince me not to switch providers. Asked me if there was something they could do to change my mind. I replied, nothing thanks. She gave in at that point, surprisingly. 🤗

it makes sense that this is energyaustralia because i had a missed call (no message left) from this number last October right after switching my electricity from them, and now this morning another missed call (no message left) right after switching my gas from them and coincidentally only an hour after they texted me saying they were sorry to hear i was changing to another gas supplier.....
