Caller: Lachlan

Said his name was Lachlan and was calling on behalf of neighbourhood watch.Wanted donations to go towards the Street Smart Handbook for teens.I told him I had received a call like this before and that it was a scam. He sounded very trustworthy, which worries me because other people will fall for it. He knew my business name, which is ONLY listed on facebook, so thta's where they must get the number from. I asked him what the website was for the Smart Book, which he gave to me.

I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth, but given that you can't call the number back, and it is the same number that is listed on this page for other complaints I do not trust it.

Caller: couldn't get the right name

I just got the same call in 17-Jan-2024 and exactly the same description you mentioned, however the new update is you can call back the number, it will have a strange ringtone ,,, but he knows exactly what we do and how we promote and selling me this idea ... I insisted on him to send me an email and invoice ... he kept mentioning you can do it online ! trying to act smart ... i couldn't trust !

Caller: Scam - pretending to be Amazon

Fake scam - automatic IVR mesage telling me my amazon account will renew at $99 and if I don’t want this to happen , to call them . Had this last year too

I didn't answer the call, as I don't answer calls from unknown numbers. I won't be calling it back. Sounds like a scam.

Got a call yesterday from this number saying they were from Victoria Police looking for and wanting business to pay for advertising in there booklet for helping kids with depression and bullying.. I really was not listening and she said they would send me an email with the information asking on the end of the email if l agree to pay the money.. Again really did not look at the email until this morning when l got two calls one after another from similar numbers who did not leave a message.. Thats when l searched the numbers on Google and found this information.. Bastards..
They used different phone numbers each time they called as follows: 0478 289 746 / 0478 289 746 / 0478 286 005..

I got someone calling from this number, working on cyber police, asking my help for a bullying campaign, What they were after?
