Yes it is a scam. Same number called my wife claiming to be neighbourhood watch

They confirmed my business name and then started to threat me that I have troubles with police. When I asked a question they hang up on me. It’s scam.

Old voice 60’s Australia accent claimimg they’re working on a police community project and asked am I a business owner.
Discussed whether I’d find a project!

Scam. Was recording the phone call and Claimed to be ringing from Australian Federal Police but wasn’t wearing their uniform. They are a media advertising company wanting money to place ads in a fake magazine that is supposed to help the emergency services.
Scammers. Do not answer!

Scam. He guy hung up on me.

Same thing, asked to speak to the company owner, I said I could help as I was one of their account managers, she went quiet, then said never mind and hung up....
Sounded Dodgy

Same, wanted to speak with the business owner, telling me he represented Qld Police in Gordonvale and wanted support for upcoming projects. If they are saying that that they are police, that is a crime in itself. I am reporting to crimestoppers.

Caller: Countrywide Austral

The company is Countrywide Austral - they run quarterly regional publications for SES, Neighbourhood Watch, Streetsmart, Volunteer RFS and other similar organisations (up to 8 that I'm aware of). They are not a scam but they can be a nuisance, as they call for sponsorship for each organisation's quarterly publication.
And they use several mobile numbers similar to this one.

Caller: Ron (I think)

Sounded like an older gent with an Australia accent, he claimed he was working for neighbourhood watch and collecting funds for "StreetSmart" something to do with kids (Thats what kept me on the line - helping the kids). I asked him for a website and he gave me, www.smarthandbooks.com.au
He mentioned various levels of sponsorships (Gold: $1,300; Silver $700; and Bronze: $350).
Reading what I've read, I am worried to even go into this website. I asked if I can call him back, and he said its an outbound call centre and he'd call me back. That's what made me think...he was gonna call me back...but reading the above, I think I'll pass.

Advertisement to collect a donation on behalf of police using a strong sales tactics. It's not a scam, however I blocked this number.

Caller: Someone saying that they were doing something for Victoria Police PCYC and publishing a home booklet for citzens

Received call from 0478 287 453 today wanting to confirm my business name and am I the owner. I said who are you and what do you want. They said they were calling on behalf of Victoria Police PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Clubs). I would not confirm my name or ownership of the business and told them it was my husband's number. I asked them where they got the business details and phone number from and they said from Victoria Police. I said that we have this number registered in the National No Cold Canvassing Data Base and not to call again. I put my phone on hide ID and rang the number back and there was a message from a female voice saying she's "on the phone a lot, leave your number and I'll call you back".

Caller: Mitchell Connor

Mitchell Connor called to ask if we would donate to Street-smart claiming he was calling on behalf of the police. Its a legit book for helping youths on the street make better decisions. It is not a scam, but he will use strong sales tactics and very skilful wording to make you commit to donating. It is a cold call, and our sales number is clearly advertised so it would have been easy to find.

I called back the number 0478 287 453 and reached vm that did not mention the company name
