Just received a text message with a link and ask me to pay customs $2 before delivering my parcel. It looks real at the beginning because I was waiting for a delivery. However, custom means from overseas and that creates suspicion and after checking this site. I determined that is a scam and possibly phising.

Caller: Spam fake sms Fake sms about an order I supposedly tytmade, designed to make you contact them so they can try and trick you into a scam where they “accidentally overpay” a (fake) refund they pretend to pay into your bank account and make you buy them gift cards to repay the “overpayment” which never existed except in the scammer’s sleight of hand fake screen shots. You lose your own money in this scam, because you cannot get a refund for a used gift card (the scammer will obtain from you the gift card information like card number and pin and will straight away strip the card of its value) and because it isn’t a direct payment to a company and you received goods in exchange for your money, your bank/Visa/MasterCard are unlikely to perform a chargeback. Do not fall for this scam and its many variations. If someone wants gift cards as payment there is something very wrong. Cease communication with them immediately and report the incident to Scamwatch.
