Caller: Scam seller

There is a scam seller on ebay who keeps offering thousand dollar plus items with same photos but a different number in a picture on the ad. I text them and they phone back. A couple of weeks back it was supposed to be a number in Adelaide 0472 503 525 and the ad got pulled. This week it is the third time the item is supposed to be in Sydney and the number is 0477 191 087. How can these people get away with these scams?

Caller: Ebay scammer

As of yesterday his ebay name is pauljgordon75 He had a guitar (Gibson Les Paul custom, the pictures of which had been lifted from Gumtree in the UK) for sale with his mobile number to call for offers. I called which went straight to voicemail and he called me back with a story and his ANZ pay id (I think this was terminated). Almost fell for it, based on the photos and his story over the phone but found the same guitar for sale in the UK. The next day he posted an ad for a Canon Camera I messaged him knowing it was a scam and he gave me a pic of a Victorian drivers licence and Commonwealth account details. I uploaded all the info to Scamwatch. If you send any funds to him contact your bank immediately.

I did all that and the banks don't want to know Comonwealth BSB 062948 ... If anyone gets any more info on him let me know .. send me the picks of his fake drivers licences too ... steve_ca @ skymesh.com.au

He now has the number 0459 601 800 and had a Breitling Navitimer listed for sale. I did not send any money but want to share so others don't get scammed !.

He posted an auction on Ebay, then removed it and I found his number in the description. He provided over text a NSW drivers license but the listing was in QLD.

I believe my number has since been blocked as i thought it could be a scam.

Do not text/engage/waste your time. If its too good to be true, it probably is !

Got scammed for $700 dollars. He’s getting quite good.
The banks can’t do anything btw if you transfer. They recommend going to the police.

Currently listing vintage hifi on ebay -Sansui AU 111 (29/08/2022) using a different mobile 0458 821 233.

The scammer posted vintage hifi items on eBay. The location stated Nedlands WA. He replied to a txt message I had sent him and he claimed that he made a mistake about the location and the actual location was Bunbury WA which is a few hundred km away from Nedlands. Alarm bells went off and I watched the item on eBay....he never changed the location. I reported the ad to eBay and it is no longer posted.

Scam ebay seller. $1000 offers 'accepted' for a $2000 item. If it's too good to be true, it probably is

EBay scammer. I blame Telstra and Optus. They sell bulk phone numbers to scammers that constantly rip people off and they know they are scammers.

Similar problem. Sent his commonwealth bank details. Only thing you can do is report to your bank requesting a chargeback and raise a report on scam watch and cyber.gov.au/report at least the police will be aware of it then

This same number currently has some vintage stereo items listed on eBay saying they are in Perth.
I knew it looked dodgy straight away.

Hi, Had a similar problem, trying to buy somehting on Ebay, texted me asking for bank transfer, pulled the ad and no repsonse. Said he banks with Commonwealth, but its a scam.

Same, Ebay add and gave the guy a call, but it was a scam

I just got scammed $1000 for a guitar. Is there anyway to get back my money as i bank transferred

Is he currently selling a Canon camera by any chance?
