Caller: someone from optus

Lady called with a thick indian accent telling me about opportunities with optus. when I explained Im not with optus, she argued with me saying my information was on her screen. I asked her what information are you holding about me? She said I live in VIC, and I said I do not. And she hung up. I've called her back repeatedly - always a new lady, always with a thick indian accent, always to hang up on me. Watch out for these guys

Lady as per messages above with very thick Indian accent. Offered 50% off Telstra bill for 6 months. Said they wanted to reward good long customers to make up for some slow speeds and cut outs. I said just apply it to our account then and wouldn't give her information and hung up. She called back and said she just needed to confirm some details to apply it and quoted my telephone number, email address and some other details (not sure where she got them from). Then sent a "Microsoft" code via text and asked what the code was. I said I thought this was a scam and to please stop calling me. When I said I thought it was a scam she said ok bye then. Definately a scam as when she thought the game was up she disapeared fast.

Lady with Indian accent wanted me to verify my email address. Saying that she was from Telstra. I said no thanks and hung up. She called back I challenged her a little bit and I said to her can I please talk to your manager as I don’t think you’re from Telstra. Yeah and then she hung up

I just had this same lady - or a lady with a thick Indian accent, told me she was calling from Telstra. I said I'm not a Telstra customer. She read out my email address which I confirmed was correct and she asked me if I would like my details to be removed from her system. I said yes. She told me she would send a code by text message to my mobile and she needed me to read out the code to her in order to remove my details. I thought this sounded dodgy so hung up. I then received a text message from Microsoft with a code to reset the password on my email account! And a further 3 calls from her that I didn't answer. Definitely a scammer!

Woman with thick Indian accent rang me from 0448 713 511, claiming she was calling from Telstra, and they were offering customers 50% discount for the next 6 months. HHmmm yeah sure lady! I told her I didn't believe she was calling me from Telstra, she said she had my address, and read out an address I had about 8 years ago. She also very quickly reeled off some number saying it was my Telstra account number, but I couldn't check it quick enough. I told her my details were incorrect, and moreover I do not believe Telstra would just randomly call me to offer me a 50% discount, and she said that Telstra are aware that many customers are paying very high prices, and they want to reward their customers, and asked can she go ahead and apply the discount. I said NO, I do not believe she is from Telstra, then she gave me her address where she works at Telstra (somewhere in Glenhuntly), and I asked where abouts in Australia was that. She couldn't / didn't answer but said "my Telstra staff ID number is blah blah blah", I said of course there is no way for me to verify that. Radio silence, no response but she didn't hang up - so I did! All I know is that there is NO way on God's green earth Telstra would call to say hey, do you want a 50% discount for 6 months!!!

She asked if I lived in Victoria, I said yes, then she quoted an incorrect email address to me. I hung up. She has already rung back three times, including twice from 0456 438 257. Clearly this is also linked.
