baycorp scam

Seems to be a phoney debt collector.
Using the wrong name and I don't owe anyone money.
Clearly a scam.

I got a text addressed to me advising me that my "Sun Retail Pty Ltd" account had been assigned to Baycorp, giving me a number to call and reference number. I don't have a Sun Retail Pty Ltd account. I don't even know who Sun Retail Pty Ltd nor are any of my bills overdue. Did think about identity theft, but after reading these comments and comments re the number I was given - total scan.

Received a text re a debt. The number they give doesn’t match the number of the legitimate company.
Definitely a scam. I blocked the number.

They said I owed 270$ for an old phone bill that was never cleared.... they threaten to black list me are they legit?

They say they're from BAYCORP which is an actual Debt Collection Company - surely they aren't running their own SCAM ?? Blocked number cause they don't give up even though they don't know my name & I don't owe anything

I don't really know who they are but they have been ringing &/or texting every morning for weeks. They seem to have several different numbers and are tenacious. When will it stop

Baycorp sent me a text msg quoting ref# 2001074215. Seemed odd. So I called. Had to quote the number. She asked if my name was Sarah O'Malley. I said no. I was asked if I knew anyone by that name. No. So if I gave her mobile number she would remove me from the "system". "Aren't you looking at it?" She requested my number again to remove me from the system. (The learned statement as before.) I asked where she was from. She answered "Offshore". I hung up. I added them to my scammers list. I don't know who these scammers really are but they aren't legitimate debt collectors.

Kept calling me randomly and left messages saying that it was urgent and I needed to call them back and quote a reference number even though I have never had anything to do with baycorp.

Text messages addressing someone I don't know but with same surname, asking to call and quote a given reference number.

Asking constantly for someone I`ve never heard of.

I keep getting harassment phone calls from this caller even though I do not have a contract with this company!

Sounds like a scam, they want personal details. If anyone does owe debt they should be able to supply all your details etc. not ask for them.
