Received a txt from this number early this morning. Msg said "Government approved courses are now available to get YOU on the path to financial freedom! Reply Y for more information or N to opt out. Standard charges apply."
I had just been thinking of doing a course so I was tempted to reply but thought I would check on the number first - Glad I did! Thank you for all the previous comments. I won't be replying.

A guy on carsales.com.au is using this number as a text back service to instigate a car sale scam. Tries to sell you a car that doesn't exist while he is "out of the country". If its too good to be true guys...

This is an SMS texting service. You send an email, and it's converted to a text. We use it at work.

SAVING YOUR ASSES

Your all bullsh*tters you no Damn well each and everyone of you had some personal contact with this gentleman. Mostly for Sex or Companionship or whatever the case may be! It's so coincidental that all of you are trying to save your asses by posting this bullsh*t at the same time there was the drama on Facebook. YOU ALL ARE JUST AS BAD AS HE IS. YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES and no one is fessing up everyone is saving there added. It's ridiculous his woman is beside herself because these are people she thought were her guenuine friends. Don't say a bad word about you cause let me tell you. He's tells everyone what they want to hear and not the truth. She calls him on his BUllsh*t and everyone is defending his actions and he is trying to make her look like a nut case. Well I will not let that happen to her and the sad part about this is that her soon to be ex husband is involved along with his gf. It's very sad. This woman is very. She would help anyone. Yes she does speak her mind without a filter but she doesn't hide behind fake names or accounts. She tells everyone individually how she feels and maybe if everyone as like THat we wouldn't have issues like this. Way to go everyone.

It's a legitimate number and a legitimate service. The messages people are sending using it are not always so.

I have 3 messages. One from my notebook repairer saying that repairs are complete, one from my wife's beautician because she gave them my number to contact here and the last from Jim's Plumbing offering a discount, and the number to call was indeed their 1300 number, which I confirmed by looking up their website.

Take care when responding to these messages or before calling the numbers on the messages, but the mobile number itself is from a service provider (don't kill the messenger!!!) :)

The message I received was just my name. I assume whoever sent it was wanting me to call/txt back and ask "Yeah, what?", but I've heard of scams where people will obtain a number that charges other people huge amounts to call it back, so I just left it. I figure that if the caller/texter is not in my address book and they want to contact me, it is up to them to call me back - not the other way around.
