Got this SMS, it is legit (my card had been breached)
From ANZ: We've noticed unusual activity on your card ending xxxx. For your security, we've temporarily blocked your card. Please confirm whether you authorised this transaction, which we've declined: $xxx.00 to COMPANY on xx/01. Reply 1 if YES or 2 if NO

That said, their messaging is pretty terrible - there was nothing on online banking to say anything was amiss.

I replied '2' to this message and got a message back from ANZ (not 0439 864 519) saying I would receive a call from their team. They called within 60 mins and were able to confirm they were indeed from ANZ by going through previous transactions I had made and then personal details where I only gave yes/no answers.
Turns out my card had been compromised and they have declined the transaction, blocked my card and I will be receiving a new card shortly.

Text message states “ From ANZ: We've noticed unusual activity on your card ending XXXX. For your security, we've temporarily blocked your card. Please confirm whether you authorised this transaction, which we've declined: $1,613.42 to APPLE.COM/HK on 24/12. Reply 1 if YES or 2 if NO”

29-9-22 In Reference to "Got this SMS, it is legit (my card had been breached) etc.
I thought it was a scam like most but..
I decided to phone ANZ 1800 033 844 Lost or stolen cards, you may need to wait for some time as they are busy, maybe due to the Optus hack or maybe you got skimmed at the food bar etc. I know it's a pain, but PLEASE wait... I waited 2 1/2 hrs :(
I too checked ANZ online but the Credit Card dates did not go back to today BUT the available funds showed a huge reduction which was odd. The ANZ APP showed exactly what's going on, yep, small +/- $203-00 amounts x 6 then the big $4K one. Jose in California USA via eBay. FnArholes @#$% !
Finally got my card cancelled and a new Ecard number appeared in my wallet (best to use the App) The real cards will follow 3 to 5 days later.
I suggested to ANZ that they should look at implementing a system where you can opt in/out, to have ANZ sms to your phone every time you use your card with amount, then ask to approve or decline. Similar to when you use your Ecard from your phone wallet with tap and go. Then followed by an sms with. From ANZ:- Reply Y to allow or N to reject.

Message from ANZ stating they had temporarily blocked my card due to suspicious activity and to check if I had made a payment to merchant
Asked to text yes or no and they would call back . Unlike other people on this site, I believe this is a SCAM. BEWARE

Message from ANZ stating they had temporarily blocked my card due to suspicious activity and to check if I had made a payment to merchant
Asked to text yes or no and they would call back
Checked my account and couldn’t find the transaction but found 3 others which I hadn’t made.
Called ANZ - they had sent the text it was totally legit and my card had been scammed. New card on way, old card blocked.

I replied '2' to this message and a little later received a text from a known ANZ number saying that someone would call me within an hour. I didn't get a call so I called them. It was a legitimate thing. I spoke with 'Falcon' and confirmed they had indeed blocked my card but that it was a purchase I was trying to make and they unblocked my card straight away for me
