Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
Caller: Presumably Mitre-10 (I don't believe it!)

Received a text from "Mitre-10" thanking me for my recent purchases (in reality - none) and reminding me I needed to add my email address to my Mighty Rewards account (I don't have one) to be an eligible entrant to win a home reno prize worth $120,000. The other plays Jingle Bells, of course.

What concerns me is this person(s) knew my first name, so they got it somewhere..... :(

Caller: 0439 667 509

Got a short-code SMS on my phone, addressed to my wife (her name was also spelled incorrectly) with a scam link. there is also an option to send a "STOP" message to the mobile number. So easy to spot a scam. dont know how they correlated my number to my wifes name. Don't reply to either the link or the phone number.

Caller: Supposedly Mitre 10

Received message on the thirteenth of November asking for my email address to complete my entry to win a Ford Everest. As my wife filled out the application, I thought she might have forgotten to ad it. I sent my email address without thinking anything of it.
Low and behold, a few days later I find an email from a Mr. Kenneth Biss claiming someone has died with the same last name as me. Yep you guessed it, offering me 4 million dollars left by this dead person. The date of the email was 13/11/2020.
Obviously a scammer, not Mitre 10.
My wife confirmed that she did indeed put my email address on the application.

Caller: NOT Mitre 10

Text on mobile asked for email address regarding Mitre 10 competition. I am a customer so I sent email address. After the fact I realised I shouldn't have done that so I have blocked the number on my phone and will bounce or delete any emails.
