Scam SMS - SDR-Foxtel 131999 - telling me technician will come Monday 13 feb - confirm, Y, N or change. I don't have a foxtel technician coming Monday - phishing scam?

I received a text message from 0439 603 528 claiming that I was selected for a Dept of Employment and Workplace Relations survey and to click on a link, which I didn't do after seeing that a previous message from the same number claimed to be from a recruitment agency that I was with. This confirmed that the number is a scam, so don't click on any links associated with this number!

Caller: Ranstad

Genuine query from recruitment specialist after I submitted an application - Text sent from this number asking if a phone call was suitable

SMS service provider. I've had legitimate texts from COVID tests, Pet circle, and SA power networks on this same number over a couple of years.

They sent a text advertising "Reception/Admin temp job with reputable company".

I don't have any appointment with Qld Xray, and certainly not in Beenleigh US.

Startrack texted me on this number to inform me my parcel.was ready for pickup. Seems legit, but confusing why so many companies use this number

Have received two messages from this number:

(My first name), sign in to jobactive.gov.au/online-employment-service and do your job seeker snapshot to connect to employment services.

And second:

Obviously Fairfield US is American and we live in Australia. A bit scary that they have my first name. I am not on Jobseeker payment either

Told me my reservation for valley car park was reserved and the PIN number to use to enter the car park. Never heard of it and never booked it.

Unsolicited job opportunity. Reply Yes for them to call me back... it is unsigned, they don't tell us who they are.

From reading the notes here I suspect it is from employment agency Randstat. I dealt with them previously and they are unprofessional not surprised they send unsigned messages now.


Also reading other notes here, this number is some SMS marketing relay number and from the looks of it they have a number of different customers. Some of them could be scammers or at best unprofessional hacks like in Randstad... screw them

I wanted to ask, is this authentic??

They sent a message saying they were Foxtel. They seemed to know that l had an appointment with Foxtel. Hackers, scammers…whatever

Caller: City of Yarra Text message

So why in the name of the Good Lord would the City of Yarra think it was a good idea to use this number to send a text requesting I send further personal information back, regarding my parking permit - via text. It IS legit,(I checked their website) its just really poorly conceived and the number has a terrible reputation as this page show. Never send personal info to an unsolicited number is a golden rule for all of us.

Caller: joblife

Recieved a text to contact them. Claimed to be from joblife Australia. Bloody scammers. They knew my first name. Called the number back and its not connected.

sms with my name from local council saying parking permit are going on-line and require email .Check with the council by phone ,they telling me it's a scam .

I've received two texts from this number, over a year apart. One was from an electricity company advising a meter reader would be around shortly. The second one was reminding me a car service was due. It had my name, car rego and details of the company I purchased the vehicle from, and was correct in the timing of the service. Must be a third party messaging service.
