Received a call the other day from a similar number. She stated that could win an IPhone or $1000. She knew my full name, which is odd as I only use my full name on document or forms that ask for it. She also said that she got my name from a survey that I had done. I don't remember the survey nor would I have put my name to it.When I told her I was not able to talk she said she would call back. I have since received 5 calls from numbers similar to this one, all starting with 0437. I don't answer and google the numbers, all of them coming up with the same result. Scam! The following numbers that I have received calls from over the last few days are: 0437 419 835, 0437 408 294, 0437 089 718, 0437 804 392, 0437 408 176. I would assume they are all coming from the one place.

Received a call from a from a very nice Australian lady saying I had won a prize of an Android tablet after entering a competition. Naturally I have no recollection of this, but I was told that all I had to do to collect the prize was to attend a tax and property investment seminar in my local area. She already know my name and the the region I live in. You need to have enough money, be married and under 60 years of age. While probably not really a scam, they are trying to attract unsophisticated prospective investors to buy investment properties. The sales technique of starting off saying you've won a prize is very familiar to anyone who gets a lot of these calls. I can't see how this type of investment could benefit anyone except them. Also, they avoid saying the phase "negative gearing" at all costs and want you to think they have a new way of paying off your mortgage faster and having a comfortable retirement that no one has thought of before. Avoid these people at all costs and seek reputable professional advise before making any investment.

Yeah, she tried exactly same crap with me. I told her I knew all about her spammy practices, and I never enter competitions. I told her Wealthbuild's shonky conduct is well known - and the fact she starts with a lie, means they are fraudulent. I hung up as she was protesting.

Same story as Neil, unfortunately I did fall for it! Asked me for my email address and took my name down for me to collect my android tablet at the seminar including all the questions of being a home owner. Hope they can't do much with my information 😩

Called and said I had won an iPhone or Tablet through a Woolworths Competition "Do you remember entering?", NO, Then to claim my prize I had to answer a few questions, which I thought would be Name and address to confirm delivery, wanted to know if I was a home owner outright or mortgage and how much I owed. I told her it was none of her business and she said "to be eligible to claim your (non descript) tablet I had to attend a Wealth Seminar................I politely told her to "take me off your call list"

Called me 2 times in a week after I asked not to be contacted. I don't enter these scam competition surveys. How do we report this to get it shut down.
