Received an sms saying they had a UPS package for me but that I have to pay a $2 customs charge before it can be paid. No company name or other identifying marks. Very suspicious, almost certainly a scam.

Either this persons number was spoofed or they should be door knocked by authorities for scamming via mobiles
If they are a victim they should seek assistance from legal authorities to track down the thieves and compensate for damages

the message is too vague, because the sender doesn't know what bank I had. All those scam is try to get you worried.

Very sneaky, some info was true as I did purchase something in 2020 and new what suburb I lived in. Most likely scam though 🤷🏼‍♀️

Text said it was from JB (Hi-fi bit that part wasn't in the text) saying I'd been entered into a competition due to a purchase I'd made and there was a link to see my prize. I have no intention of clicking the link so if it's legit, I miss a prize but if not, I won't have my phone scanned and get a virus.
