Caller: Melbourne Financial Group.(Supposedly)

I cautiously answered the call from 0432 781 478 at 9:21 a.m., Fri 17 Jan 2020.

The well spoken caller immediately and hurriedly, launches into whether you are "Your Name"..and kept asking...(I interupted and asked the person to introduce themself first), and states she is Larissa and they are Melbourne Financial Group, a private investment firm in Victoria (I am on DO NOT CALL and live in another state), and that once a year they send out their annual brochure and would like to confirm my postal address to send out a brochure to do with investment opportunities. I said I had never heard of them, and as I was speaking about to ask them to remove me, she rudely interupted in a very hurried manner said fine well remove you off our list and hung up whilst I was still talking.

She came across as very pushy, overbearing, a high sales driven manner, and is cold calling, catching people off guard.

I tested the number by calling back, and you get the message that the mailbox is full- try again later This is a coommon practice with such callers. Soo... we cannot speak to anyone , nor leave a message if we cal back 'EVER'!

BLOCK this number, as it is unsolicited, and as a cold caller they try to confirm you are the person you are speaking to, then try getting your address details under the guise of 'Finances'.

I cannot confirm if they are a genuine company; or using another companies name taken off the ABR or ACN.

I myself believe this is a 'bait and switch' type call and is a form of PHISHING. Please DO NOT confirm who you are nor give them any details, but DO ask how they got your number, and then insist they remove your details.

I called back number 0432 781 478 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.
