Gumtree Scammer - sent text and wanted email only... dodgy brothers inc.
Didnt reply to text after seeing all the poor reviews on here...

2 txt messages from this number and 0421 811 774
Using name Raymond.
As per messages here, a scammer....
Stay well clear.

Same as everyone else, advertised a bed on Gumtree, he sent a text saying only email and buying for his cousin for New Years and wanted our PayPal details and he would send a private courier to pick up the bed.

Same as above, Gumtree scam sms regarding a bike ad.

"Gday mate my father is keen to buy your bike on Gumtree kindly write him back on seths19734 @ gmail.com for correspondence."

(bad grammar included)

Same as everyone else, I received two texts on two consecutive days.
First:
Is your item still up for sale? pls email me on (dennisadrian95 @ gmail.com) Email Only

Second:
Gd day mate my father wants to buy your bike listed on gumtree kindly write him back on seths19734 @ gmail.com for corresondence. Cheers.

Same as all the above.
Got a text after posting an add on gumtree after 5mins.
Had to send his dad an email on an email address supplied.
Poor bloke was in hospital so a courier was coming to pick up the item posted on Gumtree and he would transfer all funds through PayPal.
Scum of the earth.

Same as others, vague sms message, searched google and arrived on this page, so now I know it's a scam. Text "Hello Seller, David will like to know if your listed item is still for sale? please kindly get back to him via email (davidcroftletua @ gmail.com) Email only."

I also received a text after posting an item on GumTree. They claimed their father was interested in something I was selling and supplied an email... lopatinsky0147 @ gmail.com using two different names that replied, Edward Ryan and David Silverstein. Have tried to scam me with a fake PayPal transfer.

Got a text message from this number 5 mins after posting something on Gumtree - said his dad was interested in the item and could we email him directly, and gave an email address. After reading the above comments, have ignored the message.

I received a text from this number and was asked to email back (brycerose0147 @ gmail.com) with best price, didn't even state which item I had for sale that they were interested in. I text back asking which item, no response. I emailed today and received what felt very spammish then found this site which confirmed my thoughts. It was a very long excuse about son moving house and her disabilities (loss of hearing and in a wheelchair) that a courier would collect and she would pay by paypal or EFT. It was not a normal sounding response.

Was quickly messaged by Michael on gumtree for my display tablet, asking for my email address. Poor grammar. He also messaged me saying that someone named Shaun was interested and to get back to him via email.. his email has nsw in it and my item is for local pickup in Melbourne only. Seems like a new scammer going around on gumtree lately, please be aware.

My son had the same message from Gumtree...saying they would pay and arrange to collect vehicle.I work in legal and looked the email and the number up and also rang it...it didn't even connect t's definitely a scam and the grammar is terrible showing it's not genuine.

Was sent a text from this number after I placed an ad on gumtree. They asked me to email their dad as they wanted to buy my item. I emailed the so called dad and it was a SCAM asking for my bank details and involving paying agent fees etc
