Could be scammer. Asked for asking price and my email address in response to a new Gumtree add.

Gumtree scammer. Do not email them back as they will ask for your PayPal account to make a payment, advising they’ll pay more so you can buy them a Steam Card so they can pay for the transport or whatever! I’ve lead them on for a while until they realized they wouldn’t get anything from me!

I'd say scammer too. If they already have your mobile number, why do they need your private email if not to get extra info to ID someone?

It is a scammer. Who would go on the internet to read the ad, then send an SMS asking to email, when they used a mobile phone with working number, which means, they could use it to either SMS or talk.

Scammer, combing classifieds

Confirming a job for I don't know what. Addressed me as Sharon. Not my name. Gave a land line if I had any queries.

Sent text message asking if the item was still available. Sounded suspicious as I state in the ad to only ring or contact via gumtree. Checked on the internet to find he seems to be a scammer. I did not contact him back.

SCAM

Contacted by this number 0421 811 774) about a new posting on Gumtree (less than 24hrs old). Same as another poster on this form (that was contacted via a different number), asking to be contacted by email only on (cokermathewp[at] gmail.com). If the contact wasn't suspicious, the end user would have messaged through the Gumtree platform.

Both text requesting only contact by email and same email address cokermathewp @ gmail.com
