Claiming I need to make payment for a car accident that actually did occur, however they listed the wrong date and details. Threatening legal action if not paid in 7 days. I confirmed with my insurer that the claim has been paid and sorted out already

Just got this scam text, it does have all the proper information (date, rego, name...) just no $ sign. Insurance told me it was all good on their end but will double check.

Hi Mr XXXXXX, in regards to the accident with our client on 17/XX/20XX who was driving, XXXXXXX. your insurer XXXXX has not settled our clients losses. We note if we do not receive payment for 6,419.32 within 7 days, we may take legal action to recover our costs from you directly. We suggest you speak to them and resolve this matter. SCAM I just got this sms: Please contact Compass on 1300 135 485 regarding your replacement vehicle, we need to complete the claim process to keep you in the hire car - REF: 493445

Received a text claiming to be a company called compass in regards to a vehicle accident which didn't happen asking to contact them.

Received this text 30.4.24 after they tried to call me. Haven't had an accident (that I remember lol), will not call. This company when googled seems legit so this is bizarre. Be aware.

Can you please ring Compass on 1300 135 485 & quote Ref .......... This is in relation to an accident you had on 20/03/2024.

received the exact message (details of accident we had were correct!) and no $ sign as posted by Anonymous on the 27th of Feb 2024, did not reply and contacted insurance company immediately.
