This is a scammer trying to pretend to be a child stranded needing money. It has been reported to crime stoppers

Scammer -texts pretending to be family member & asks you to send money.

Beware of this unlisted number as it is another spoofed number being used by cyber criminals. This number was used for an attempted fraud of $150.00 (Hey its Mum transfer money to BSB 083083 A/C 0421 800 129) it was reported and blocked.

Was a message from “MOM” saying they left phone at home and to send them money to a BSB and ACCOUNT NUMBER.

This phone number sent me a scam message claiming to be my mum, and in need of $150. 1000% a scam, BSB belonged to NAB, sent them an email about the message, hopefully they can take action

At 2224 HRS on 25 Feb 2024, I received an sms message from 0428 227 206, the message read, "Hey it's Mum. Left my phone at home and brought the wrong card with me to the petrol station. Can you please send me 150. I will pay you back when I get home. Bsb 083083 Acc 0421 800 129" This is a scam as my mother is 90 years old and doesn't have mobile phone or a car! beware of this number ...

Did a check on the BSB, came up from National Australia Bank in Clyde Branch in Clyde, Victoria 3978.
We dont use NAB nor live in Victoria.

Sent me message asking me money pretending my mum.
Copy & paste his message:
“ Hey it's Mum. Left my phone at home and brought the wrong card with me to the petrol station. Can you please send me 150. I will pay you back when I get home. Bsb 083083 Acc 0421 800 129”
This low lifes wont stop…i blocked the number.

Recieved one of those scam messages claiming to be my Mum. Thankfully I saw right threw it
