Trying to tell me that someone is using the internet where Telstra node is.
Need to tell them my PC IP address. So they can snoop around my PC for my password.

Claiming someone used my card

Scammers pretending to help you reverse a fraudulent transaction.

Details of call:

Called 4.12pm on 2 March 2022 claiming to be a credit card security company saying that I have a fraudulent transaction on my account from Mr. Harry in California of $499. When I agreed that I didn't make this transaction then they wanted to guide me to the computer to some forms or place where I would put my details in and they would reverse the transaction for me.

Now this sounded very suspicious to me because I have had a fraudulent transaction on my account before and I've never had to deal with any external organisation except the bank itself.

So I started asking a lot of questions, such as which bank, where are you calling from etc, so the first person I spoke to said they were calling from a credit card security company and when the questions I was asking, designed to cross-examine them got difficult, she said she'll pass them on to her senior supervisor. So I started asking the same questions to see if I would get the same responses. The second person said they were calling from CBA in Melbourne branch. So I said ok no worries, let me call CBA and let them know what's happened to my account. She said that they can't help me and that they are the only ones who could help me. That they would guide me to my laptop/computer telling me exactly what details I need to provide/submit so that the transaction can be reversed. I got the feeling that they are just trying to get my personal details through some form they've created online so I was adamant that at least let me call CBA RIGHT NOW and let them know of this and she told me that there's nothing they can do for me and I kept insisting and said let me call them first and give me your details then I'll call you back. Then she said, well it's already passed 4pm and the banks are closed. And I said no but the Customer Service line is open to 8pm (I just guessed the exact time as I know Westpac used to be open to 8pm and later checked the CBA website and the phoneline is open until 7pm) and then she said to me do you really want to do that? All they are going to do is put you on hold and not answer you. And then I said, oh really? So you are telling me, that YOUR bank, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia has such bad customer service that they don't talk to or listen to their customers when someone calls the customer service helpline? She then hung up the phone.

No bye, nothing. Both of the people who spoke to me on the phone were female with Indian accents and there was murmuring sounds in the background. One of the females identified herself as Adison.

I checked online to see if there were any scam reports from this number, I couldn't find any so I am writing this report in case anyone else receives a call from them: 0425 354 909. But I did find quite a few scam reports online for the number 0425 354 907. So please be careful if you receive a call from either of these numbers.

Disconnected as soon as I answered. Tried to call back - call failed.

Here we go again! Yet another scam call - only the last one or two numbers change!!! Call blocked. I spend so much time each day blocking all these bloody annoying numbers.....
