AZUPAY SCAM. DO NOT GIVE BANK DETAILS OR CREDIT CARD DETAILS. I WAS SENT A LINK AS PAYMENT FOR ITEM BEING PURCHASED ON GUMTREE. OTHERS HAVE HAD BANK ACCOUNTS EMPTIED. LOOKS LEGIT. BUT IS VERY DANGEROUS SCAM

Thank you for reporting this. "Carl" sent a text responding to my Gumtree ad for a kayak. Asked for my PayID or Acc details to set up an Azupay link to pay me. I questioned & refused so haven't provided any details.

He tried to convince me to trust him with this: "check our ebay reviews - petersofkensington. abn 69 002 881 218" That was a red flag - Peter's of Kensington aren't known for selling 2nd hand items.

Thanks. Got same message from this guy. He wants to purchase thru gumtree but he leaves 450 km away. it sounds a bit weird. Lucky I looked his number up and found your note

I advertised an item on GUMTREE then almost immediately CARL texted me saying he would pay full asking price (which I thought was strange) and arrange Star Track collection. He came up will all sorts of payment options with Azupay involving my bank account details but when I told him CASH only he disappeared. Obviously a scam, be careful with this person, don't give bank account details!

He asked to pay me via azupay as well. I was skeptical because I am selling a car on gumtree, usually people need to inspect the car first. Dude just wanted to buy the car without checking. Very suspicious indeed. The link he provided was "azupayjoin.com" , which is different from the legit link.

Was selling an expensive fish on Gumtree. Wanted bank account details for Azupay but as soon as my debit card details were requested realised it was a scam.
