Caller: Carl

I had a drum kit listed on Gumtree Australia. He asked me to pay through Paysend (where I noticed his name was Carl), but it didn't work, so I sent this phone number a PayPal money request instead. It went to a different name (Sara Velasquez). When I googled his number, I found this page. When I rung the number, my phone screen lit up red said "suspected spam". It rang once then I heard "engaged" beeps.

Scam

Caller: Someone called Karl Hey

Attempted scam via gumtree. Says he lives in Port Macquarie and will pick up via Startrek. Even gives a real address.

Caller: Roy

Contacted as a buyer on Gumtree but reckons my replies are blank. Asked that I call him on this mobile number 0422 338 120. A quick search shows red flags for scanner. I won’t call and have reported the Guntree conversations (his lies)

Reacted to Gumtree ad. Said below:
"I don't have a bank account so I prefer to pay using Paysend. You don't need to sign up for it. It's just a direct transfer from my Paysend account to your bank. You'll just need to visit Paysend website and confirm your details.
Send me your PayID or bank account details if that's ok with you 🤝"

Trying to scam on Gumtree

Caller: Anh

They answered an ad I posted on Gumtree tasmania using the name Anh. Then asked to communicate by texting this number. I felt uncomfortable and so googled the number. I won't be communicating any further with them.

Caller: Anika

Similar story as above, except Anika.
Anika wanted to get my product shipped to Port Macquarie through star track.
But wanted my banking details.
Nice try.

Gumtree.
Anika.. from Port Macquarie.
Wants to use star track and paysend as well.
What a coincidence this is.

Also have 0422 338 120 call me after listing on Gumtree.Have tried calling back Karl and call does not go thru. Also rings as if the call has been forwarded to OS number. Also asking to pay through Paysend and collecting goods using StarTrack.

He sent a txt saying he was located in Port Macquarie and he would get star track to pick 65 split face rammed blocks. Suspected scam, googled and here we are.
