Caller: Scam I received the following text message.
"hey dad I had a bad accident with my phone today. I have a new number now it's 0420 879 444. Please text me on there as soon as you see this."
Which of my two son's was not identified, although one was home with me at the time.
Also, why would you change a number if your phone is damaged? You can transfer a number to a new phone. My other son is well acquainted with technology. And why text, not call?
Neither of my sons sent any such message.
I suspect the sender wants to confirm an active number.
So beware of what you may be sent!
