Do not give out your CCV number (3 digits on the back of the card) to anyone who is calling from a charity. At the moment in Australia charities can process donations without this number.

I called back number 0420 101 297 rang once then goes to busy tone.

Rang back, said KPL for Four Paws on answering machine.

Valid number. This was labelled as a scam as a precaution while an investigation occured. After investigation it appears the allegations were a simple misunderstanding. This is indeed a fundrasing agency that is working with Greenpeace Australia Pacific. If you need clarification please call 1800 815 151. Apologies for the inconvenience. Greenpeace asking for donations to save Barrier Reef. Very polite and not pushy, but then neither was I. Simply explained that I'm not in a position to give money right now. Don't want them calling back though!
