A lady with an accent called claiming to be from the NBN. She said that they were doing work in my area and she wanted me to check my internet speed.

When I asked her what area she was referrring to, she said "all areas."

I then asked her another clarifying question and immediately she hung up.

Someone from the NBN making general enquiries would not use a mobile number to make the call. Do not trust this number.

I received a scam automated call from 0420 040 714 saying someting like "your internet service provider is going to be cancelled in 24hrs..." before I then immediately hung up and blocked the number.

I want to say; here is an IMPORTANT MESSAGE for the SCAMMERS:
"...do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are... thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were..."
