This is a scam. I got this scam SMS on 13/12/2013 and 13/03/2014. It seems they are sending a SMS automatically in every three months.

I still got the damn txt message and 2 weeks later I got automatic robot call to respond me with asking me the same thing. AGL account got overdue. Just hang up this phone call.

Received the following message by text - Reminder from AGL. Your Gas bill is overdue. Please pay $487.42 or call 1300 658 955 to discuss your options. Ref# is 712122949051476304
Have spoken to AGL who have confirmed it's a scam

Is there any way to stop the call from them?

Received a message from 0416 905 141 stating I had an overdue bill ($557.37) from a gas company we had nothing to do with. Confirmed as scam by this web site.

Just got this scam txt message, said my electricity bill is overdue and the amount is $500+.
Look like these things are still happening.

Yup, a friend who doesn't speak good English got the same text twice with the same message & from the same number 0416 905 141). She requested me to call on her behalf. When I rang the 1300 658 955 number, it doesn't sound like AGL. So I got suspicious and checked the AGL contact number from their website. Then I Google the number and got here.

My friend could be easily scam because of this. Can any authorities here in Australia do something about this?

This scam is still happening. Got a text from this number on 27 Aug, said my gas bill was overdue with an amount under $100, says to call 1300 658 955 to discuss your options. It also lists a ridiculously long reference number that has no relation to any account number.
