this is what i thought was the case. they refuse to tell me the purchase price of the debt. they have told me repeatedly that the same original terms and conditions automatically transfer from the provider to scumcorp when they buy the debt. is this BS?

Debt collection agency attempting to recover money by blowing out the phones of third parties that may or may not know the subject of the alledged debt.
They attempt to call parents, siblings, cousins, neighbours, work colleagues, anyone even remotely associated with the subject or their lives in the hope they can get to them. What they do is illegal, and they can safely be ignored.
When a bad debt is passed onto a debt collector, the agency purchases the debt for 10 to 20 cents in the dollar and then attempt to collect the FULL amount from the original borrower (plus interest).
However, what most people are unaware of is that once the debt has been purchased by a third party , the debt has been expunged for the original borrower, and that is the end of the matter. The only signature from the borrower is on a contract between the bank/credit provider and the borrower. There is no signed contract between a debt collector and the original borrower.
Therefore, do not admit or agree to anything a debt collector says on the phone, as they will attempt to trick you into entering into a contract with them (if you're the original borrower they are after) and try to get you on a 'payment plan'.
The statute of limitations means they can only chase you for a maximum of five years, but if you admit to anything or enter into agreement with them (even verbally), then that resets and you can be harangued another five years or until you've satisfied the needs of these vultures.
Your best bet is to avoid them like the plague, legally they have no clout. All they have is intimidation tactics on the phone. Weak! They are legally only allowed to call 3 times a week or 12 in a month, but that is IF YOU ANSWER. so answer the call & just hang up & they won't be able to call again.

Caller: credit corp I switched my phone to private and just kept spamming them with calls back. I never say a word, just leave them saying hello until they hang up........then I will call them back again and do the same thing. It starts to really annoy them in the end......oh revenge can be sweet sometimes. I would suggest everyone do it from any number they call you from. If enough people do this then it cuts back on their time to annoy others.

Caller: Credit Corp They are relentless, ringing endlessly for two years now. I've told them repeatedly that I dispute the amount owed but they never listen. They've spent two years chasing a $500 debt, which I believe is not the correct amount.

Caller: Credit corp Give them nothing This is not a business to buy debt from banks and financial institutes for penny and then chase you for the amount owed. How the gov allows this is beyond belief . The commission into banking did nothing to stop bad practise in this country if anything they want to relax laws again to get economy going . Give them nothing they can’t do sh*t , if they could the bank would have done it already 👍🏼

Don't pay these idiots a cent. If debt is over 6 years old you don't have to pay anything...even less time in NT. These vultures buy debt from CITIBANK e.g amount owed say $10,000 they would buy this for say $650 and they want you to pay them $10,000 Why do CITIBANK DO THIS....they could have got the $650 from the borrower instead of selling debt to these OUTLAWS. Hang up...don't give them any information.

Caller: Credit Corp They buy debt for a fraction of what is owed from CITIBANK. Then they want the full amount owed and in addition charge exorbitant interest rates. Why do Citibank do this? If they gave the borrower the chance to pay the amount Credit corp buy debt the borrower would pay it. These guys are low life VULTURES. Blocked

phoned back and got Christina. Had to ask who was calling, she said credit corp and give her a reference number. I didn't, because I don't have one. She was in the Phillipines. Clearly a scam.
