Some idiot called "Reece" contacted me claiming to have the parts I was after. Ripped a photo from Google, however when questioned him tried to provide some BS excuse.

Yep, he got me! Same MO as above. Said he lived in Perth and had the parts I wanted. I should'a been more thorough in my checks. Reported him, but don't know what or if anything will happen. Clearly nothing has yet.

Gumtree scammer. Searches for wanted ads then approaches you saying he has what you want. The catch is he lives on the opposite side of australia. Just another natural born loser and drug user.

I put a wanted ad on gumtree for carseats back in June 2021 and was contacted via this number by a guy who called himself "Phil."

He sent me pictures of the car seats saying these are the ones you need. They were. I did a reverse google search of the pics to make sure he hadn't found the pics on the internet somewhere. Nothing came up on the search so I thought he was the real deal. He said he lived in remote WA or SA I don't remember and would send them via post. I offered to pay 50% up front then the remaining 50% when delivered. He pushed for 75%. I reluctantly agreed. I sent him 75% and he said he will post them and provide a tracking number.

He never sent a tracking number.

After days of hounding him for a tracking number he became aggressive and defensive saying that "I don't know if you work but I work bloody hard."

He ended up sending me a fake screenshot of a made up number of DHL logo in it.

2 weeks went by and I had had enough. I went to the police to lodge a report.

I sent him a message that I had reported him to the police. Refund me my money and I will go back to the police and close the report.

Had my money back the next day from a different bank account that I had deposited it in.

Didn’t answer as all unknown numbers get sent straight to voicemail. Whoever it was left a message claiming they will charge me $99 for Amazon prime. Blocked & deleted

Blokes used the same phone number for over a year scamming people. No wonder these people get away with it. Law is a joke

Yep scammer, do not engage. Gumtree wanted adds he responds too, calls you, act’s friends give you a phone number, has a anz bank account etc. . Stay well clear at all costs and do not believe a word no matter how genuine. He will play you for months, offer refunds etc. blames covid, just plays on and on. Massive scammer and user. His gumtree pages are new with maybe 1 or two fake positive review. Don’t reply and only do wanted adds face to face. Big risk and no cover

Says his name is Dale and is in WA and supposedly had the parts I was after. Got nasty when I told him was a criminal. Obviously a junkie probably copping a load down his throat most days to get a few dollars. Would love to get hold of the scared little fag.

Responded to a wanted ad I put up on Gumtree.
Sent me a photo of it and asked for a deposit. I asked if we can become facebook friends so I can put a face to the phone number.
He said no to facebook but offered to send me a picture of his drivers licence if I sent him mine.
Alarm bells went off so I jumped on google and searched for his number. Thanks to the other legends here I didn't get scammed.
To confirm, I searched google images for the engine photo he'd sent me. BAM, there it was.
When I called him out on it, re responded "I've had it listed before hence why it may have filtered onto google images". The image is from America... Oops.

answered my ad on gumtree, had all the right pictures, even spoke to the guy on the phone.
He now has $950 of mine, but this could be his undoing as i have contacts.

I put a wanted ad on gummy, and this POS rang within 5 mins saying he has the parts, and can freight them next to nothing from WA. Sent me a pic of what he reckons he had(google pics), was nothing what I was after, dumb drugged f*ck stick. Bet his dad wished he pulled out and shot him all over the sheets now.

This guy responded to my Gumtree ad and message me at 1.52 am trying to sell me CVT transmission for $350. To prove his identity (I didn't even ask) he sent a picture of NSW drivers licence belongs to a guy born in 1947. (William Wilson). Again he used another phone number 0423 609 272 to message me. Luckily I typed the phone number on google.

Avoid at all costs, bad news. Tried to sell a metal detector for $800.00. Claims to be in Perth. Exact same add from macquarie nsw, same pic. Got my dough back just. Steer clear
