Caller: (03) 3864 3456 Received this message: HiMum, Im so stressed out right now because I dropped my phone in the loo by accident, can you please msg my number: 0410 610 345 Knew immediately it wasn’t my kids as the would tell me their name and neither would use the word “loo”.

A message came in:
Hi mum! I dropped my phone in the toilet and couldnt retrieve. Here is my new number, can you please call me.
(this was from my son, the thing was, he always says hi mum! so I without a moment trusted ofcourse. Called back, no answer, sent message, no answer. Just found out my son didnt lose his phone so this number was a scam. And I never fall for scams, this is pretty worrisome.

Caller: Scammers texting Same Hi Mum message about dropping the phone in the toilet. Trying to extract information. I said sounds like a prank and the messaging stopped. Looks like they changed "loo" to "toilet" to suit different nationalities.
