Wants $495 to advertise in the police association magazine.
Said we were listed as local builders which was completely wrong.
Seemed like a scam.

Same as other people are reporting. Asking for credit card details over the phone for a magazine. Told me I agreed to advertise etc. Definitely scammy.

Caller: Private magazine falsely claiming to be associated with emergency services

Hi, I encountered this company in two independent businesses I run, once I signed up for local listings online, the calls begin. They claim to be associated with emergency services, however they run magazines with a similar name containing the words police, fire brigade, etc.

I signed up originally with these people for advertising, nothing came of it and it was an obsure magazine with no reach and no association with any emergency service.

Stay away, don't deal with them, they have a dodgy way of earning money that may not be illegal, but is definitely not beneficial to anyone except them.

total scam. Said he was from the volunteer firefighters association. Do not give these con artists any money.
They also claim to be from the police association. It's a complete lie.

guy sounds dodgy said he is from police organisation, He asked for the owner of the company and when i said i was operations manager he hung up.

I called back number 0405 547 225 reached voice mail but did not say for what company.

called back unable to leave message. wants text message. the police magazine has called me 3 times after placing a business listing in sensis.
