Got my number from Gumtree, texted about an engine I need, pressured for deposits via pay ID, asked for a refund once shipment was delayed and they pressured for full payment, we realised it was a scam and suddenly slow replies if at all

They’re a gumtree scammer who tries to sell you stuff via bank transfer and not send the goods.
