Texted me via what’s app to post the item and asked to fill credit card details .Really geld was a genuine buyer but lucky my bank did not support the method of transaction.

Same scenario. Buying my gumtree stuff with no questions, providing me with a link where I was expected to enter my credit card and bank account details. Obvious scam.

Re Gumtree Post .
Contact made with in hours of post no questions and was ok with price .
She wanted to use Aus Post credit to pick up I felt uneasy so decided to check
Her out . As I thought too good to be true.

Can the police track down this person?
The Auspost site looked so legit, thankfully googling the phone number led me to this site.
Has anyone reported it to the police?

same story just a dog scammer contacted me via WhatsApp about a listed gumtree item

Similar story to previous ones. They said they would transfer money to us if we were happy to send item (listed on Gumtree), as they had credit with Auspost. Scam suspected immediately, so we didn't proceed. Contact was made through WhatsApp.

Same as above, pretended she wanted to buy my stuff from Gumtree and that she would transfer money so she sent a link from Auspost.pay.transaction and was expecting that I fill in with my bank details. I immediately smelled a rat and stop the conversation , did not click on the link hopefully.

Same here, buying item from me from gumtree with no questions, directed to aust post website to put card details in. Payment amount not showing and also list VAT tax. Was contacted through whatsapp

Same number messaged my partner about an item for sale on gumtree, sent a dodgy link and we were scammed but luckily my bank was onto it. Got my money back, money was transferred to a “zvonimir krstic” someone needs to throttle these low life dogs

Same happening here, these scammers are f*cked. This same number 0403 148 070 be carefully with these people. Same story in me, calling from Hobart, wanna buy my expensive item without questions, just wants to pay for it and have my confirmation on the allegedly Post website. I’m out....

Same as above, received a SMS message via What'sApp per gumtree post on 26th December stating she was based in Hobart, so wanted to organise a delivery using Australia Post. There was no link in the message... rude abrupt instructions on what to do. Gumtree completely set-up for scammers of all sorts!!

Phishing for credit card details. False pretense to buy stuff that I sell on Gumtree and asked to fill in my card details in a supposedly Auspost website to receive funds/payment she paid. The website link to Auspost was missing ".com.au"
