Got a call from these people yesterday. I claimed I couldn't understand the guy that called me(I barely could anyway). He put me through to his female 'supervisor', her english was no better.
While telling them I was doing what they asked (as far as run>eventvwr etc) I started asking her questions about the origin of the report they claimed they got, exactly which version of Windows I was running, exactly which one of my computers had sent it and the big one HOW DID THEY GET MY PHONE NUMBER IF IT HAS NEVER BEEN ENTERED ON ANY OF MY SYSTEMS...
She could NOT answer any of these except where they got my number. It, and my name, came through with the report. I pointed out the above ask asked many times but always got the same scripted answer.

Finally I started asking basic technical questions like why they used the 'run' command instead of 'control panel', the error codes they got in the report. The woman asked me if I was a programmer or computer technician. I said I built my system myself.

She hung up.

Just had a call from Kate Wilson stating she is from QRPC online and she was very pushy.  She wanted me to go into "run" mode and she would tell me what was wrong with my computer.

I dont think so.

advised that computer Windows Pro system notified them we had downloaded unwanted programs and very dangerous material onto the computer. She wanted us to log onto computer and she would talk us through what to do.

Managed to waste an hour of these peoples time. Got passed through to 2 technical teams and they couldn't seem to access my pc.
Spoke to a rosilyn then a rex from QRPC ONLINE who after showing me my event viewer tried to get me to download software from support.me and showmypc.com.
Obviously hoped to be able to install their own virus software and scam money from me.
Eventually said i had to go and got their phone number.
