Caller: Someone I could hardly understand strong Indian or similar accent. I get so many of these types of calls so when they say how are you today I say quite unwell and they usually hang up immediately. Same happens if I ask them to speak slowly because I'm deaf. Then I block their number.

Caller: (03) 9989 1731 So they call from ‘Offers Assurance’ and they call on behalf of ‘fixing your energy rate. If they ask for you by name, and you say ‘No’ and give them another name, they don’t hang up due to privacy reasons of a wrong number, which a GENUINE company would do (and I know this because I work for Origin!), they claim IT issues and file names are mixed up, and continue the pitch anyway.
Ask them politely to be taken off the call register, even though they won’t f*cking do it, but maybe one good egg in a headset will.

Caller: Some energy comparison company An Indian man was on the other end of the line. He told me that he wanted to compare my energy bill with the competitors in Victoria. It was probably from a call centre & it was also unsolicited. The number was shown as “Unknown” when it appeared on my screen.

Called and hung up straight away. Possibly because I answered with a business name.

This phone call was repeated many times, and when he was asked if he could speak mandarin, he would hang up. Each time by the way of the bill to ask the address, name? Highly suspicious zha cheat.

Silence for a few seconds, then a male voice asked for my wife by name, I said not her and he hung up immediately. I did redial, however the call was cut off after a couple of rings
