    I worked here. Poor computer phone systems is why all the mute calls. Staff pass on requests to I.T. To remove numbers as requested but it's clear for whatever reason they don't remove the numbers. Call staff are on automated dialling system ie, the second a call hangs up the computer throws us another call, the phone numbers we dial are out of our control... most staff feel sh*tty about the job they do, but most are unskilled telemarketers who are mostly unemployable elsewhere. Huge staff turnover cos it's sh*tty for you guys and us!! But first job after 2 years on the dole so trying to keep my chin up and food on the table! So from one anonymous telemarketer to the people of vic,nsw and qld... there work practices suck, we know it, I'm sorry I'm a part of the cycle.

    Make a contact in your phone, call it whatever you want, I call it telemarketers.
    Add this number to it, and any other telemarketer d*ckhead loser numbers.
    Set calls to go straight to voice mail. Peace of mind.

    I literally don't answer random numbers now, I google them and call back if I don't see complaints about it.

    Download Truecalller app, it tells you where it's calling from and you won't have to answer spam calls. You can also block them and it will just be ignore! Cheers

    Ringing as many as 3 times in one day. Only family and close friends have my mobile phone number so I don't know how they got it. Recorded message when I rang back. Pointless.

    This is actually an energy broker company. They don't want any of your bank or card details so there's no concern over having those used illegally. They are simply paid (probably through getting a cut like most brokers) to see if they can find you a better deal for your energy. I did the math with the person (3 people actually they have a weird business operating system in that regard) and it turns out I was better off with a different company (it's also not owned by the Chinese and considering they caused COVID-19 I'm more than happy not giving the Chinese my money). So I switched. You can hate cold calls all you like but it might save you money. No lock in contracts in the new company I'm switching to, and I just spoke directly to them on their website confirming all this so...

    They have been calling everyday last week. When I pick up one "Paul" answered and cut off immediately. If you try to return the missed call, there is no one to take and it goes straight to a message.
    Wonder whether some one (authority) could investigate and disconnect these kind of people

    These people have been calling me for months now. Every time I ask them to take me off their list. Sometimes they call 2-3 times a week. Often there is no one on the line when they call, and they hang up.

    The company PRETENDS to me telemarketing, yet seems to be linked to an insurance or bank collections agency.
    The caller also leaves me a message and tells me repeatedly that I am some other person. I got this new number recently.
    The first time this happened I made the error to SPEAK with the caller and I told them that I was a new owner of this number.
    The caller continue to phone and harass me. She told me that I was the other person.
    has changed. The woman has accused me of being the person they are after and insisted that my same was some other name that I had not ever heard before.
    The matter is, if you call back the number if is that initial caller 039980632 who can gain your exact geographic location. Apparently there is some 'app' that allows a caller to learn your approximate location. Or ... they might be a sector of government ... and the caller hides behind a central switch-board from where identity is masked.
    And, this caller KNEW that I was a survivor of long-term and repeat malicious harms to me by certain insurance and government staff ... she TOLD me.
    I am a survivor of harm done to me (crimes not dealt with suitably by police) and it seems the harasser uses the telemarketing ruse as a cover for their call.
    I know that these callers are linked to some collections and/or insurance bullies, who OWE me money; and they have been behaving unchecked in unlawful ways for this past DECADE.
