Caller: Social Research Centre They sent a text message a couple of days beforehand saying they will be conducting research "on behalf of the police in your state or territory." "Reply '1' if you are 18+,'2' if you are under 18 or '3' to opt out." Looked like a scam and I did not reply. When the call came from (03) 9960 9516 i answered and got a spiel about local police convincing me again it was a scam and I hung up on him. I subsequently researched the organization and it now appears to me to be a genuine research organization trying to do a genuine enquiry. They just need to polish up their approach so that they don't look like a scam and get hung up on when they ring!

Left message claiming to be conducting a survey re: policing in Victoria - but they called a QLD number! Smells like a scam to me.

Caller: Social research centre Female caller with Indian accent. Something to do with crime in our area. I told her I'm busy, don't have time and said goodbye. She called back 3 times! Honestly, Firstly if you're genuinely conducting research on behalf of the govt about crime, why get people who are so bloody hard to understand on the phone. Secondly, when people say no thanks, GO AWAY! Do not continue to harass them. Is this a scam? I do not know. Is this annoying as hell, YES!

The fact that Reverse Australia tells me "Sorry, no results for this number" automatically tells me it's someone I don't know and don't want to know!!
