Scam caller targeting small and new businesses

I am a small eBay business and received a call from this number and they were also claiming to be Victoria police and requested $385 per year for some safety program.
I do not have a website and do not have my phone number listed with the name of my store anywhere other than with eBay and a customer would have to request to have the number. So I have no idea how they got my number and mentioned my store name. I called ebay and they have had no requests for my phone number, so someone must be accessing it on the inside somehow.

like another of those shoddy references callers, be aware.
We run a transport business, that may be a target as well,
why we are on their scope. Logging them on our naughty list now ...

I run a small business on Facebook, and I generally don’t get that many calls, (plus the number I have linked to my shop isn’t the same that they rang me on) so when they called me up saying they were the Ambulance Union I was suspicious. I’ve put them in on my blocked numbers list.

We are a small business and this number called stating they were the Victoria Police PCV ??? They asked for business owner however, she wasn't here therefore they hung up.

I received a call on this number to my business number, saying it came from "Melbourne, Victoria" - I thought it would have been someone or a friend down there calling me. I have tried ringing it back on No Caller ID and it just hangs up. I have had this happen before with someone talking about kids staying off drugs, asking for $350, $500, or $1000 amounts.... I remembered that and I reckon it was the same people for that scam mentioned here.

Very polite young lady rang me while I was out running, she said I sound busy, so i'll be quick - it's a call on behalf of Victoria Police, asked if I was the owner of a Facebook page (which I am) and that it'd be great if my page were listed in their book as a sponsor for programs which tackle youth crime prevention and suicide - so my guess is they got my number from the facebook page and thought that since i was proactive in the community i would be a good targe, get the samaritans type of approach - I told her we don't generate income from the page so any donations would be from my money, that's fine she says. I feel played. I don't like being in someones targets because I own a "do-gooder" facebook page. Don't fall for it, they will say anything to get a foot in the door.

Called pretending to be SES asking for local business to donate money for an add in the local newsletter. Dog

I called back number (03) 9945 8183 rang once then goes to busy tone.
