Same problem as everyone else is reporting. Five missed calls in February 2015 alone. Often the phone rings less than three times; and on the occasion when I have answered it I get silence. I am not getting suckered into calling back. I am on the 'do not call register' but if it is World Vision charities are exempt!

They insult us by hanging up. I will donate my funds elsewhere.

I received a call from this number today, but they didn't leave a message, so I googled it and found this webpage. Thanks to those who posted that it was World vision.
I was a World Vision sponsor for years, but stopped about 8 months ago so I guess my name is still in their call database.

Likewise received a call for additional sponsorship. Looks like World Vision got their act together or got their phone fixed.

This is world vision seeking additional sponsorships. They are approaching all their existing clients because of urgent need. Very polite and when I said I was not able to help she said thankyou for the existing support and have a nice day.

I've just started getting missed calls from this number in the past month too. When I rang back it was World Vision. When I said I had a missed call they asked if it was in regards to a job I had applied for (I hadn't applied for any jobs with them). I told them they must have gotten the wrong number and they apologised, however they keep ringing! I used to sponsor a child but stopped seven years ago

It is World Vision, but via a private, for- profit marketing company. I get calls to my mobile. I use Norton Mobile to block the calls..... they give up after a month ro two.

Actually Emily....it is World Vision. I have received 3 of these hang up calls over the last week. I finally rang the number back and got World Vision, told them I was not happy with them hanging up....they denied this, so I emailed them my call log for those 3 days. They were apologetic and informed me they would take me off their call list, which I agreed with. After a week of nothing, it has started again....wouldn't be so pissed off if they just spoke when they rang. Maybe this is their way of saving money getting us to call back. PS I am a World Vision Supporter, and I wouldn't change this because of some Telemarketer blunder. Though I will be sending another email, maybe higher up the chain to inform them of this annoying issue.

It's definitely World Vision. I am getting 1 call a day, everyday and each time they hang up when I answer.

World Vision. I lodged a complaint about them after ten years of sponsorship. Definitely not what they seem. If you sponsor them, they will hound you for more money. Guilt trippers! If you don't want to be hounded by pushy call centre staff from overseas (diverted) then you can chose to block them.

Thank you for the blocking tip as I was unaware I could do this on my phone.

I'm yet another person who has received a call and then hangs up after I've said my name. I've simply blocked this caller, which you can do on your mobile phone. Hope that helps.

Everyone, it is not World Vision. They are a respectable organisation and wouldn't call you just to hang up! When they are in urgent need of assistance, like say from a natural disaster, then I usually get something in the mail.
