If any call has no identity or I don’t know it I let it ring out and check later for a recorded message. If I still don’t know the caller I simply block the number. I take a similar action on emails and at one stage blocked emails from 10 countries. It worked and the emails ceased. I hope the approach to calls also works.

Probably a variation on 99178962, i get a few of these with 9917

(03) 9917 8961 & (03) 9917 8962 within 2 minutes of each other, unanswered but both calls left empty voicemail messages. BLOCKED.
