They called me just now while I was studying for exam, and ask for a one-off $25 donation, I rejected politely and the person (a current Monash student who didn't identify her name) just kept pushing it by saying "even a modest donation $10". Seriously, you can't just ring and ask people to donate for a campaign. I am very unhappy the way Monash leaks my contact detail for these kinds of activity. I think I will launch a proper complaint.

sounds like a telemarketing office, pushy asking for a donation. quick lookup of the number links to monash alumni donation page, then why are they so pushy and scammy over the phone?

Regular scam call requesting donations for Monash, however the appeal they're asking for doesn't exist.

They target me every year....a nice current student 9supposedly, but who knows) who pretends to be really fascinated in my career and life but really it is just a build up to request a donation to the Monash Alumni Association. When you decline they have absolutely no interest in your achievements at all....it is all about fund raising. I wonder if they are paid? Have offered to be a Mentor - not interested.

I received a missed call on both my mobile and home number. They didn't leave a message on either. I checked this site before phoning back, now I won't phone them knowing that it's just a scam wanting money. If you're on the Do Not Call register, report them. Got 2 'missed calls' this morning - but not the first time. Googled the number and felt content that I'd missed being spammed/scammed! My phone is a Motorola and this call was preceded by a voice saying 'Hello Moto!' and I wondered if it was Motorola calling me, but still didn't answer. I'm very wary of unknown callers! When people I know call me, I don't get the "Hello Moto!" before answering, so I wonder if it's a built-in Motorola scam warning? Does anyone know about this?

When will the GOVERNMENT Finally wake up and stop all this crap callers, they get blocked EVERYTIME as it is....

Got a call too, asking for donation on spot. I am not sure how legit it is as I gotten the call a day or two after I logged in to Monash alumni section to update my details. But he apparently didn't have my updated details...

I've been getting these as well to my mobile as well. Also from 9902 9000 for a month or more. Very annoying.

I've been getting these calls for a few months now. Today I decided to answer - I had literally just sent an email using my Monash address and then it rang, so i thought i'd find out who they were. There was a lot of background noise - like a call centre. Then a startled girl answered and said "hello", I said hello, then she said hello, then she hung up. Very very strange.
