6 calls today, 3 to landline 3 to mobile, telling me I can get the Government free light globes. I have to get them for my house... to replace the other ones a few years ago. they get quite verbally assertive when you say no thanks.

These people are cyber criminals - be very careful - they want you to answer your phone using a wifi device so they can hack into your internet - be careful - the longer you talk to them the better chance they have of succeeding

Do not answer. It's just another annoying Indian fraudster

Here is my idea: EVERY time you receive a scammer call, note down the number and time.

Then email/ring the Australian Federal Minister responsible for Communications, Cyber Safety (and The Arts), giving the time of the call, whatever was said, any other details you can remember, and ask what is he planning to do to reduce scam calls in Australia. If EVERYONE does this the we might finally get some action.

I answered with "Hello" pricks heard a adult male voice and hung up...People like this take down society's most vulnerable...

This number calls... Says you're surname & have an outstanding bill with a company I don't do business with.
When I asked who was speaking. A MALE WITH AN INDIAN ASCENT SPOKE. ASKING ME WHO I WAS... I'M LIKE YOU CALLED ME. THEN HE THEN USED BAD WORDS SAYING I'M A DUMB f*ck & I'M DEAD... I'VE BLOCK THE NUMBER & REPORTED IT TO THE CRIME WATCH AUSTRALIA WEBSITE!

This number has phoned 3 times today and has not left a message. We never answer calls so eventually they might get that message.

The number just rang everyday several time during the last week.
Could someone told me how to block it?

Rang twice in 3/4 hour between 6 and 7 pm July 21, hung up as soon as answer machine picked up the call.

They've moved on from the lighting replacement scam. It's now water saving shower heads. "How many showers do you have in the house?" I was asked. "Seventeen" says I. "My goodness! What is your address?"

Same here. But they went by the of a State Government funded led lights program.

They called about replacing LED light bulbs, we have had the lights replaced by ministry of housing. Then they were asking about the shower rose about replacing the shower head. That's been done 6 months ago with renovations. Then I looked the number up and found this site.

Knew my name. Said she was Rose (with an accent) Said they had supplied light globes from the government some time ago and I said yes years ago. I said we were fine didn't need any more and hung up.
