Caller: Daniel Called saying 2 suspicious transactions they've paused on my ANZ account in Adelaide but he knows I'm based in Sydney .Then asked to confirm if they were speaking to *insert my first and last name* asked how many accounts I had with ANZ. I then hung up and called ANZ directly and they said it was a scam. Strangely enough the contact number is on the ANZ website which is confusing?

The reason I picked it up because it showed true id is ANZ on my iPhone. A lady said my name but messed up the surname and first name, saying I purchased 7 guns by my credit card. This made me very concerned, because I don’t have a f**king credit card with ANZ! LOL

Claimed to be from ANZ Fraud Dept, detected suspicious transactions on my account. Sounded very convincing, tried to tell me my phone had a virus and it compromised the app. I hung up and confirmed with ANZ that it was a scam.

Caller: ANZ I’m confused. I called OUT to this number accidentally. Couldn’t find out how. Then I went to check my ANZ app and it said I had deregisted. 2 numbers came up on their app.. the Australian number to call and one to call if you are overseas. The one to call if overseas is this number?! So I’m confused as to how it can be a scam number and also a real one? It’s also listed in a google search as being a real ANZ number.
I called them on the other number, for Australians, & they fixed it so I could log back in. All texts they sent were real & I got back in. Interesting.

Called so many times but when not answering the call the scammer calls from a private number beware. I never fall for it as I ring ANZ to confirm first. Ring company first to confirm.
