A GUY CALLED FROM THIS NUMBER AND SAID HE WAS FROM AGL, HE TOLD ME I HAD A CREDIT BILL IN AGL OVERDUE FOR LONG TIME, IN FACT, THE AGL ACCOUNT HAS BEEN CLOSED SOME YEARS AGO. STAY AWAYS, THIS NUMBER (03) 9649 4842 IS A CHEATER. THEY WANT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY

Called to sell AGL NBN and mobile plans. Was so persistent even though I proved to him that I'm on a better plan. In the end I told him I'll call him in a month's time when my current plan expires. And he seemed very disappointed and called me a LIAR under his breath.
It was very annoying. but I also feel sorry for these guys whose job day in day out is to call people.

I’m an exisiting AGL customer, two missed calls where the voicemail message left is like they are actually talking to me before realising there’s no one there. I called the number back and it answer. It is AGL, and then they immediately start asking for detailed information like full name, date of birth, which I declined to provide. They started to go into a special about this being required to be confirmed under the telecommunications act. I believe they are using existing customer details to try to leverage and sell other products.

I had a miss call from AGL and I called them back. It sounded like the enquiry line. Gave them my number so they could look me up so see why i was called. They asked to verify my email address and my mail address. I said sorry i'm not going to give you that, she then went on to say Oh well I think the reason they rang you is about your internet and broadband, told them i'm not interest then i hung up.

I am an AGL customer for my gas and electricity and when I am late paying my bill I start getting calls from this number.
I am pretty sure it is a legit AGL call centre, or at least a contracted call centre, but I still don't answer the calls cause they always try to up-sell other services. They must receive some commission $$ for every up-sell..

I am an AGL customrer, but receiving calls daily offering something I don't want is a pest. I am at work. Piss off.

Has AGL sold phone numbers? I have stopped answering calls from unknown numbers and who don't leave a message. I've had two calls from this number who did go to messages, but the callers did not identify themselves. Assuming spam or scam. (This is why we can't have nice things.)

Delay in answering when I picked up - wouldn't have had it not been a logical looking Melb number. As soon as there's a delay I hang up and block. I don't care who it is - our network doesn't lag like that if local.

AGL sales - this is legitimate, not a scam. AGL have bought into internet/phone services. They are trying to get people to buy in. Just say no if you don't want it.

same deal as everyone else. rang me, silent on their end so just hung up after a few seconds. usually people talk to you straight away as soon as you answer their call.

Could not tell if scam or not, but when they began asking about internet usage I ended the call.
