Caller: "Travis"

Can 100% confirm the caller from this number is a scammer that will try to phish your information! A man named "Travis" called my father claiming they were from AGL and that they'd help him get his energy relief money. When I overheard him asking for my dad's pension expiry date alarm bells rang and after I grilled him for a few minutes he hung up on me. AGL customer service confirms no outbound calls were made to my father. This scam is listed on their "scam, fraud and phishing page". Hang up!

They say they're from AGL. I don't know if they're legit. They are using a number not associated with AGL.

Was called advising that I am eligible for $650 credit for gas, and $650 credit for electricity.

"We have recently received reports of scam callers pretending to be from AGL. The phone scam is related to the Energy Bill Relief Fund announced by the Australian Government in partnership with the state and territory governments.

The scammers are attempting to obtain customers’ bank details under the false premise of depositing energy bill relief credits. AGL will not contact customers for this purpose – eligible customers will have their energy bill relief credit applied directly to their AGL energy bill. Call claimed they were from AGL and referred to the Data protection Act that subsequently they didn't know the whole name of the customer. ie this is very fishy (Sus).

Caller: "AGL"

Purporting to be AGLand saying I'm due for a Government Energy discount. They are getting smarter, by spoofing the company number to get around the phones identifying them as a spam call. They also only have a 1st name. When I ask them for my full name, 1st, middle, surname they go silent as they think of something to say. I tell them we have several people in the house with the same 1st name and I need to know who they are calling so I can pass the call. They again go silent, by this stage I just tell them to F off and hang up.

Kept asking me to confirm all my details, they should have all of this on my file; DO NOT ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS.

Caller: Caller with Indian accent. Claimed to be from AGL.

Called twice today. Wanted to confirm personal details. I said no...email me something. He said he cannot do that...must be done over the phone. I said I will not give him details over phone, he could be anyone. He said he was from AGL said my christian name and suburb I lived in. Told me I am entitled to Govt rebate grant. I said no I will not give him any details over the phone. Beware of this number appearing on your phone. IT IS A SCAM!!

Scammers! Just had a call from Travis with an Indian accent claiming to be from AGL re energy relief. They are scammers & sound very convincing. So Please be careful and DO NOT give them any personal details.

I got a call today but noone spoke so hung up I always check these number. I will never give information out. I don't even trust the cust service people that work at most places that I need to call. NEVER TRUST INBOUND CALLS call number to check.

I would like to know how these scammers got my information from AGL if they know I'm with AGL what other details do they have. Dues that mean AGL has been hacked. I'm not impressed.

Call your bank asap o stop any payments being transferred change your passwords

This number keeps calling say its AGL . But It's not . Be careful We think it's Scam . I checked with AGL they didn't call .

Caller: Apparently it was AGL

Apparently he was from AGL, wanted the number i was calling from, However when i said that you called me (My 84 yr old mums phone) he said it was to see if all our payments were correct. I had to think for a minute as i had just paid her Gas bill from AGL on line. I gave out the first 4 digits and then stopped and said , no thanks and hung up... Be very careful, they are clever bastards!

A guy called pretending that he is from AGL when I tried to call him back, the answer machine was directing me to AGL. Now on your page I found out that this us a scam, but I gave him many of my details what should I do

Caller: Scammer claiming to be from AGL

They called my mum at about 5:30 pm claiming to be from AGL. They knew my mother‘s name. I got on the call to ask for further information (I often have to translate for her), and once I did I was asked for my name. When I wouldn’t provide it I was told they couldn’t talk to me as I wasn’t the account holder. Given the hour and the reluctance to talk to me or tell me what the call was about I told them that we would call AGL at another time when it was appropriate. Checked my mum’s call log and she had had a previously missed call from them during the day.

Caller: Indian accent claimed to be A.G.L

New my name, wanted to talk me through a government energy relief scheme. Told him I didn't like cold calls and would contact A.G.L. Hang up!

'Mike' claimed to be from AGL. Wanted to help me claim a $600 govt. rebate. Sounded suspicious, so hung up, having given no details.
